Paper & Glam

This site is a gracious alternative to your morning paper, dedicated to the adventure of learning to love and live well, wearing haute pink, and believing love wins. I write about learning to love God and love people, fitness, scrapbooking, decorating my 800 sf Denver Dreamhome, and fitting it all in. My hope is that one day Paper & Glam represents a community of girls leaving a hot pink dent on this world not just with what we accomplish or even who we become, but with the way we have loved. Let our lives be the proof that love wins

Denver Lately

I woke up to this...

And this...

Is that not the cutest little pink colander of strawberries?

On Sunday, my best friend, his mom, and I all started The Paleo Diet with the intention of improving our overall health and energy levels (and yah, NOT hibernating while unemployed in Denver). The premise is that we were never meant to eat cereal grains (wheat, rice, oats, and corn) or dairy, and that's the cause of many if not all of our degenerative diseases. I'm loving me some lean protein, fruits, and veggies; and I really do have more energy (which isn't caffiene-induced)! I don't feel deprived in the least, and I have so much energy! Life without cereal grains is possible, at last (maybe) (hopefully).

This week, I started waiting tables (yep, waitress...holler) and I'm interviewing for a 9-5 temping at Cigna Healthcare. As Jason Aldean sings, "the world's wide open." While job searching, I've been having so much fun exploring Denver. I want to a Mammoth All-star game at the Pepsi Center. So fun!

I'm so excited for summer! In honor of the arrival of Daylight Savings Time I did a little spring cleaning. This is my little bathroom. It's so  clean now I think you could eat off the sink. Check out the cowgirl Kleenex box in the corner from Target : )...$1.99 of pure happiness, it's the simple things!

I'm getting excited up for my first trip to the infamous Grizzly Rose on Friday for a little honkytonk and some two-step. I've been listening to Zac Brown "Free " on repeat, this may be my 2009 theme song, because "I don't have a job, I don't have a lot of money, but I'm free as I'll ever be." Can't wait to see him at Stagecoach 2009!

In Daisy news, she is fighting hard and is still feeling great. We don't know how long it will be until the cancer catches back up with her.  I hope never! Right now she's at Grandma's house in Napa getting the best care available. She has a vet that does house calls, a big yard to run, bark, and grow in, and a grandma who makes her special extra-yummy cancer-fighting food, and I'm sure more toys than she can play with.

Welcome

  • Hey there, thanks for visiting Paper & Glam!

My name is Lisamarie. I'm a California girl living in Denver, a runner at dawn, and a corporate girl by 9. I'm about God, glam, Vogue and Voltaire, wearing hot pink and believing love wins.

I mainly write about learning to love and live well, with sprinkles of fitness, scrapbooking, literature, decorating my 800 sf Denver Dreamhome, and fitting it all in.

My prayer is that we represent a community of girls leaving a hot pink dent on this world, not with what we accomplish or who we become, but with the way we have loved.

Let our lives be the proof that love wins.

    Love wins,
    Lisamarie
